LeBron James debuts new red and gold Nike LeBron 9 Elite in loss to the Thunder - Examiner.com

For three straight rounds in the Eastern Conference Playoffs, LeBron James was able to do what he normally does in the regular season: dominate opponents to submission.  No matter how tough or phony tough their foes made themselves out to be, James was able to force his will upon the competition because he was just that good.  It was as if coach Erik Spoelstra told James that the Playoffs had not started yet.  And just like that the narrative of James being a choker was slowly dissipating, unless you're the cynic who says the first three rounds are like the first three quarters of the NBA Playoffs, of course.

And then Nike graced James with a special red and gold player exclusive colorway of the Nike LeBron 9 Elite, and it finally dawned on him that he was back on basketball's biggest stage.  To be fair, James did perform admirably, but the depth of the Oklahoma City Thunder and its own superstar in Kevin Durant was just too much for the Chosen One to handle.  He's going to need help from his super friends Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh if he's going to get through this test.

Aside from the "Miami Vice" colorway, this might be the hottest colorway of the Elite 9 yet.  With the shoe debuting in the Finals and the significance behind what could be LeBron's first championship, many people will be demanding to see this on their feet as well.
